Privacy notice
This notice explains how Elm & Sterling Advice handles personal data when you visit our site or enquire about UK financial advice consultations.
Data controller
Elm & Sterling Advice is the data controller for personal information collected through dataflowops.digital. Contact: hello@dataflowops.digital, +44-2-793-2330, 90088 Geo Orchard, Sporer-under-Crooks, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.
What we collect
Through enquiry and newsletter forms we may collect your name, email address, preferred meeting window, consultation interest, and the message you write. During a confirmed engagement we collect documents you supply (for example payslips or pension statements) under a separate advice agreement.
Purposes and lawful bases
- Responding to enquiries — legitimate interests and, where you request a consultation, steps prior to a contract.
- Delivering agreed advice work — performance of a contract.
- Sending optional seasonal notes — consent, which you may withdraw.
- Site security and essential operation — legitimate interests.
- Analytics cookies — only if you accept non-essential cookies.
Retention
Enquiry messages that do not become clients are kept for up to 24 months. Client advice files are retained for periods required by financial services record-keeping rules and our professional obligations, typically at least five years after the engagement ends, and longer where regulations require.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability where applicable, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. You may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact us first so we can help.
International transfers
We aim to store personal data in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. If a supplier processes data outside those regions, we use appropriate safeguards such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements or equivalent clauses.
Sharing
We share data with processors who host email or file storage under contract, and with your accountant or solicitor only when you ask us to coordinate. We do not sell personal data.
Cookies
See our cookies page for detail on essential and analytics cookies and how to change your choice.
